Senior Boys Football.

Mohill played Castlerea away and came home with a one point win. They are now in a Connacht quarter final,. Mr Beirne manages this team.
John Paul 11 Awards.
Four of our students have been bestowed with the above award on foot of activities in school and in their parishes.The recipients were Blathnaid Duignan, Elizabeth Honeyman, Dearbhile Tiernan and Michelle Hackett.
Irish Angling Team.
First year student Roisin Bohan has been included in the Ireland U – 15 Angling team. This qualification is based on fishing competitions over two weekends at Iniscarra Co Cork.
Roisin has also been nominated for a Leitrim Sports award. We wish her luck in her competitions.
Leitrim Sports  Awards
Six students who were part of Carrick on Shannon Hurling Club and won the Roscommon U/14 Shield Final are nominated with their team for an award.
Shane Mallon, Sean O’Riordan, Cian Mallon, Jordan Reynolds, Robert Maguire, Cormac White.
We sympathise with Owen and Rose McLoughlin and family on the death of their grandfather – Sean McLoughlin.
We extend sympathy to bus driver, Liam Prior, on the death of his mother – Mrs. Emily Prior.  May they rest in peace.

Transition Year.

A representative of “Children And Young People’s Services Committee” from I.T. Sligo carried out research with the students on the services and facilities available for teenagers in South Leitrim.  The feedback may result in new service provision for the students.

Entrance Scholars Award.
Past student Eileen Pfeffel has recieved an Academic High Achiever award from U.C.D.  This is in recognition of her exceptional attainment in her Leaving Cert. Eileen is a student of vetinary medicine and completed her education in Mohill Community College last June.  Congratulations Eileen.
Business Teachers Association Award.
We applaud Nina Greene who received an award in Galway on foot of her excellent grade in Business Studies in her Junior Cert last June.  Well done Nina.
Home Youth Liaison Officer.
We welcome Mr. McGoldrick who will visit the school each Wednesday to provide education and social support, both on a one to one and group basis.  Supports relating to mentoring and mental health are a priority and communication with parents, if necessary, is part of his role.
Walk & Talk.
As part of the Healthy Schools Programme and in conjunction with Anti-Bullying week, students talked about mental health issues including bullying during their half hour walk.  The first, second and third years upon return to class provided feedback and the points were discussed in a class setting.;  The event doubled up as a sponsored walk to raise funds for the Loughlin Og Burns Fund.  Well done to all involved.
We sympathise with Aine Nicholl and family on the death of her aunt – M;rs. Maureen Grogan.  May she rest in peace.

Senior Boys Football.

Mohill played Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown away and despite clocking up a score of 4-13 they ended up five points adrift of the Roscommon team.  Mr. Beirne is in charge of this group.
Junior Boys Football.
Mohill played Boyle C.S. away and found themselves 13 points behind at half time.  A much better second half for Mohill left them losing by two points in the end.Mr. Duffy is in charge of this team.

Floral Pride.
The school was a winner in this years Floral Pride awards. The small south facing garden with planters teeming with flowers, shrubs,and roses surrounding a beautiful gazebo earned a 250euro prize  Well done to those who developed and maintained this gem for all to enjoy on a daily basis.
This years school enrolment is on Saturday, November 19th from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. The school can be contacted at any time if this arrangement does not suit.
Mr. Nolan brought First year girls and boys teams to Drumshanbo to play five a side soccer.  Teams from Drumshanbo, St. Clare’s Manorhamilton and Carrigallen competed.  Mohill won a number of games but did not qualify for a final. A number of TY students helped out on the day.
