Second years on the go.

This year group travelled to Terenure Dublin to visit a Synagogue as part of their Religious Education Project for Junior Cert.
Fairtrade Fortnight.
Mohill C.C. is a Fairtrade school as Carrick on Shannon is a Fairtrade town. The 2B class together with Ms Colum attended the Fairtrade parade in Carrick and presented the school’s message regarding our commitment to the Fairtrade ethos.
Transition Years.
The group have had two guest speakers recently. Ms Evelyn Cafferty from “About Hygiene” covered food hygiene and safety in  product development as part of a project initiated by Bord Bia on “Food Entrepreneurship” Ms McCarville facilitated the visit.
Ms Gilheaney invited a representative from the Bank of Ireland to talk to the TY group on the School Bank. We wish to thank both speakers.
Girls Basketball.
The first and second years continue on their winning ways in home games with St Clare’s Manorhamilton during the week.
TY Enterprise.
The class had seven mini companies in all, five of which progressed to the County finals in the Bush Hotel. Pride of place goes to the Recases group who won the best “Business Report Award” of 75 Euro and a Leitrim Crystal engraved bowl. They were importing and selling rechargeable phone cases.The group comprises Rachel Kiernan, Catherine Nicholl, Seoirse Quinn and Chloe Cunningham.

Leaving Cert Art.
Ms Purcell and some of the Art class went to Strokestown house to study the Gothic architecture of the building.
Bereavement.
We sympathise with Sophie Reynolds and family on the death of her Grandmother Mrs Teresa Reynolds. May she rest in peace.
