Dearbhaile Beirne.

We applaud Dearbhaile, a multitalented athlete, who has been selected on the Ireland U/15 Schools International Soccer Squad for the Bob Doherty Cup, which will take place in Belfast from April 1st to April 4th.
Dearbhaile also plays basketball, gaelic football and is a racewalker. She was awarded the Juvenile 2012 Star Award in Leitrim for her racewalking prowess. The presentations was made by the Minister for Sport in Tullamore.

Congratulations Dearbhaile – you are a credit to your family and mentors and we are proud of your achievements

Leitrim Youth Theatre.
A number of students from the school are involved in the Carrick branch and have recently completed a two night run at “The Dock” with a play called “Heroin Lies” to raise awareness of the dangers of drug use.
Shauna Diffley, Hannah Keegan and Sean McLoughlin took part in this production, directed by Katherine Sheridan and Emily.
They continue to engage in workshops on drama.

First Year Trip.
The First year students were in Dublin last week to visit the “Overseas Aid” offices in O’Connell Street. They took part in a ninety minute workshop on aid to developing countries as part of their CSPE studies. They were accompanied by Ms. Dolan, Mr. Nolan, Ms. Garvey and Ms. Gallagher. By all accounts they got some shopping done also.

We sympathise with Marian Cunningham and Doreen Honeyman on the death of their aunt – Mrs. Betty Reynolds. May she rest in peace.
