Beidh Coláiste Pobail Maothail ag ceiliúradh Seachtain na Gaeilge an tseachtain seo chugainn 11ú – 15ú Márta. Beidh imeachtaí éagsúla ar siúl i rith na seachtaine mar shampla céilí, tráth na gceist and seisiún ceoil. Ta súil ag Roinn na Gaeile go mbaineann gach duine taitneamh agus tairbhe as gach imeacht.
School Tour to Old Trafford
Forty Fifth Year students and a number of teachers attended the Champions League match against Real Madrid last week. The tour also incorporated a visit to a History Museum. The only negative on the tour was the match result.
Ms. Kellegher and Ms. Gilheaney guided a number of groups within the school towards this competition, held annually in Carrick on Shannon. Four groups from the school qualified, two from Fifth Year and two from Transition Year.
“Medal Masters” was one Fifth Year entry involving Kieran Gilmartin, Traolach O’Driscoll and Colm McHugh. They designed and made wooden plaques to display medals on. The other Fifth Year group sold jewellery from Their “Shambala Collection”, members of this group were Jessica Richards, Clíodhna Reynolds and Shauna McCrann.
A TY group comprising Clara Reid, Sorcha McGwynne, Alice McLoughlin and Lauren Wickham made and sold biscuit cakes.
Eileen Pfeffel, Shannon Cassells, Fiona McGowan and Claire Rogers from TY won third prize overall for their company “Feltit” where they made pictures and frames from felt material.
First Year Boys Football.
Mr. Nolan and the boys travelled to play Strokestown and won on a scoreline – Mohill CC – 3-8 Strokestown – 2-6
Juvenile Boys Football
The boys Juvenile team also played Strokestown and won during the week.
U/14 Girls Football.
The girls played Foxford last week and came out the wrong side in the end.This ends their interest in Connacht competition for this year. Ms. Horan complmented the girls and said many of them have great potential.
