Girls U 16 and U 19 basketball.

Mohill played Carrick on Shannon C.S. in away matches and lost both,  the U 19’s trailed by just three baskets in the end. Ms Mc Govern mentors these teams.
Congratulations Mahon. 

We salute first year student Mahon Meldrum who represented Ireland in a world karate tournament in Italy. Mahon chopped his way to two golds a silver and two bronze medals.He trains in Carrick on Shannon and Sligo.
Accolades.

Wiktoria Fangor, Robert O’Beirne and Ryan Shanley have been invited to participate in the 2014 Irish Bebras Computing Contest on the basis of their Junior Cert Maths results.  We wish them the best of luck in the competition.
Daire McKiernan

Dáire, who completed his Leaving Cert in June, has qualified for the National Finals of the Engineering Technology Teachers Association awards.  The high standard of his Engineering project has qualified him for the competition.  Mr. Gannon was his teacher.
Gaisce Awards.
Local athlete, Eanna Madden, presented the Gaisce awards to the students on the day before midterm.  Ms. Reynolds promotes Gaisce in the school.  We thank Eanna for his time and wish him well in the years ahead.
Big Brother Big Sister.
Ms Hanly co-ordinated training facilitated by NYP staff for Fifth Years, TY students and First Years.  The first years will be mentored throughout the year by the senior students – mostly during lunchtime.
Student V Teacher Soccer.
All the training and gym work paid off for the teachers as they eventually won 8 goals to four.  Thanks to the student team and all  their supporters who created a great atmosphere during the game.
