First Year Girls Basketball

The Mohill girls played St. Catherine’s, Killybegs away and lost by seven points despite a great second half display. Ms. Hargaden Ward coaches this team.

School Matters.

With nine weeks to go until the end of term exam classes are preparing for oral tests and completing project work in a number of disciplines. State exams begin on Wednesday, June 8th.

Driving School.

The TY group have had a visit from a driving school, where they have prepared for the theory test and learned the basics of safe driving. They continue with their work experience on a weekly basis.

Poetry Ireland.

Ms. Chris Thompson from Poetry Ireland is working with the TY group on creative writing and will culminate in a drama production at the end of the module. Ms. Reynolds has promoted the initiative.

School Library.

Ms. McManus is working with a small group from TY on sifting through the resources with a view to cataloging the books. The books used in the DEAR (Drop everything and read) initiative for first and second years literacy will be segregated.

Schools Essay Competition.

Limerick University is sponsoring a competition regarding “Homelessness in Ireland” and students – Ryan Shanley and Kerri Daniels have submitted entries.

School Media.

Mr. Aidan Lennon, Bank of Ireland, spoke to Leaving Cert students about the role of social media in promoting banking and business in general. He touched on the dangers of including too much personal details on ones profile and the fact that many employers check the profiles of prospective employees before offering employment.

Bereavement.

We sympathise with Conor and Alannah McGuinness and family on the death of their great grandmother – Mrs. Peggy McGuinness. May she rest in peace.
